New Adventure

Last month I had quite a few good sales in my Etsy shop, so I’ve decided to reinvest that money into my business and have bought some bare yarn to handpaint and sell.

Yesterday morning this big box arrived with all the loveliness in it.

I can’t wait to get started on hand painting this yarn and I intend on making the colour ways repeatable, whereas my fibre is one of a kind.

I’ll keep you updated.

Test Knitting

For a few years I’ve been doing test knits for designers.  I’ve done over 30 test knits and usually enjoy them.

In July I accepted a test knit that I wasn’t going to be paid for.  It was a travelling cable toe up sock.  There were quite a few testers and I had until the end of July to complete it.  I’ve struggled with directions as they are very complex and I’ve not been enjoying it.  I put it down and explained to the designer that I was struggling, but would complete it as soon as I could.

I still haven’t finished it and am contemplating ripping it out and giving up.  I just can’t do it.  I feel a total failure as this is the first time I’ve not been able to complete a pattern.

What would you do?  Would you grit your teeth and try to carry on, or would you rip it out and forget all about it?
